about me
Who are you?
Hi! I'm Lea. This webcomic is about living the life with my husband, dog, and twin boys in the suburbs of the weird and wonderful city of Portland, Oregon. I am a full-time mom, an alumnae of Georgia Tech, an uncertified speech-language pathologist, a lapsed Catholic, and a former carhop.
How did you end up creating a webcomic?
I have a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Culture with a minor in Architecture and an M.S. in Communication Sciences - sooooo, I am both over- and under-qualified. I also spend lots of time managing the emotions and whims of tiny, unreasonable humans. The kids provide lots of good material for a comic. And I need a creative outlet and I like to draw – instead of doing something more productive like swiffering the floor. It's just going to be dirty in five minutes anyway: what's the point?
What tools do you use to draw your comic?
I used to use pencil, pen, and paper. Now, I use JOT pro stylus with the Sketches App on a Mini iPad.
Do twins run in your family?
No, we did not conceive our twins “naturally.” Yes, we did IVF. Twice. After 5 years of infertility. It’s a long and sad story that you can see under the Infertility Story section of this site. But it has a happy ending. If infertility is also part of your story - I am so, so sorry. You are amazing, and it is not your fault. If twins are also part of your story - Congratulations! You are amazing, and I know you're doing your best - even if it doesn't always feel like it.
That was a lot of personal information. I just wanted to know when the webcomic would be updated.
Seeing that I can’t really commit to anything beyond the next couple of hours, I’m going to say once a week – if we’re both lucky. Let's just stick with Wednesdays - we could all use a little pick me up in the middle of the week.
